Prostatitis in men: symptoms and home treatment

pain in men with prostatitis

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate (prostate) gland in men. According to statistics, this is the most common urological pathology in the age group from 25 to 50 years old. The main causes of disease can be divided into 2 groups: infectious and non-infectious. In most of the reported cases, the cause of prostatitis is particularly non-infectious.

Many factors are associated with the development of the disease: smoking, hypothermia, frequent alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, infection of the genital tract, eventually spreading to the prostate gland. It can also negatively affect the health of the prostate and tight underwear, allergic reactions, trauma, severe stress, constipation and prolonged urinary retention.

The motivation for symptoms is often less sex or too long abstinence. Because of all these factors, hormonal changes, blood circulation in the pelvic organs is interrupted and a stagnation of lymph occurs. Therefore, this lowers the immune system, making the prostate very susceptible to infections and viruses.

Prostatitis can be divided into 3 forms: infectious, acute and chronic.

Causes of this form of infection can be bacteria, viruses, fungi, and Trichomonas. As a rule, the development of infectious prostatitis occurs due to the penetration of sexually transmitted infections into the prostate gland. Most often these are infections such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis. Infection from the pipes of urine and bladder to the prostate gland through the lymphatic system or blood vessels of the pelvis, infection that reduces blood supply to the prostate gland, causing obstruction or (in some casesvery rare) blood poisoning. But it does not always cause the development of inflammation - this requires the above factors, without these factors, the disease may not manifest itself.

The acute form of prostatitis is the main cause of discomfort and burning pain when going to the toilet. Usually, the patient also has fever (up to 40 degrees), chills, irritability, pain in the episiotomy. In acute form, prostate edema occurs, as a result of which normal urination is interrupted. When you have the first symptoms, you should make an appointment with a urologist immediately, as any delay in treatment can lead to a chronic transformation of the disease. At the same time, with acute prostatitis, the chances of a full recovery are almost always high, although complex treatment is required. It usually includes antivirals, ultrasound, physical therapy, reflexology, and prostate massage.

The chronic form of prostatitis develops 3-6 months after starting in an acute form, if left untreated. In this form, the disease can persist for a long time, but under certain conditions exacerbations are possible. The danger of prostatitis is that it can carry other, much more annoying diseases: vesitis, fibrosis, adnexitis, and later erectile dysfunction (impotence) and as a result. infertility.

Treatment of prostatitis with folk remedies

Prostatitis in an acute or complicated form is treated only in the hospital under the supervision of a doctor. They perform a full range of diagnostics, PCR, urology, blood and urine tests, detect the presence of dangerous viruses or bacteria. And only then, depending on the established reasons, antibiotics, immunostimulants, lasers and physiotherapists are prescribed. In severe cases, surgery may also be required.

Treatment of prostatitis at home is only effective in the absence of complications or relapses in a chronic form. Usually, folk remedies cure prostatitis to relieve pain, increase immunity and help eliminate pelvic edema.

Squatting for prostatitis

When the cause of prostatitis is inflammation (and not a bacterial infection), it is likely that it is a violation of blood supply to the pelvis, affecting both the prostate gland and the muscles. around it. And there is no better way to restore blood circulation than to squatting regularly. Test yourself first: straighten your arms, raise your head above your head, and do as many squats as you can.

These should be "extreme" squats, that is, so that the pelvis does not slack down to the knee, and the body does not lean forward, creating hallucinations when performing the exercise. If you can do this exercise 80-100 reps, then you have a good chance of healing. If you experience rapid pains in your legs and pelvis, this is a sure sign of weakened calf muscles and blood circulation problems in the prostate gland and other pelvic organs.

You may not be able to do this exercise every day, but limit it to 3 times a week. If you cannot sit down 80 times, try to divide the implementation into several approaches: 4 times 20 times, 2 times 40 or 50 reps. For maximum effect, the resting time should not be too long - 3-5 minutes.

Alternatively, try supplementing squats with other exercises:

  • Raise your legs while lying on your stomach (about 20 times with each approach), but don't do this exercise 100 times so you don't have to overdo it;
  • Do a "pull": sit on the floor, find support for your arms behind your back, lift your legs in the air and cross them, leaving the right and left sides alternating at the top. With this exercise too, don't try too hard.

Along with squats, these exercises should be done a total of 100-150 reps - then home treatment for prostatitis is most effective and may not require medication.
